2019 Aluvión Vineyards - Cab Frac - Reserva

$85.00

PRODUCTION

Super premium limited release.

The 2018-2019 season got off to a slow start with a cool, rainy spring and lower than normal temperatures with some rain in October and November.  However, by December the vineyard was blessed with nice warm weather and very little rain lasting all the way up to harvest in late April.  Wine growing and production were excellent, similar to 2018, leading to an overall exceptional harvest.

This was our second year making a Cabernet Franc, although we have been growing and blending with it since the start.

TASTING NOTES

The Cabernet Franc wine is dark red. Its aroma expresses green and red pepper, red fruits, and delicate notes of tobacco and smoke given by its oak aging. The varietal strength of this Cabernet Franc well expressed on the palate. Its tannins are soft, reflecting the typicity of this grape in the Uco Vally.

About Cabernet Franc: Originally, this grape comes from the Libournais region of Bordeaux.  It was crossed with Sauvignon Blanc to create the Cabernet Sauvignon variety.  In the Mendoza terroir, it usually expresses notes of capsicum, raspberries, cassis, tobacco, together with floral notes.

We recommend decanting for up to 30 minutes and serving at a temperature of 16-18 degrees Celsius (61 - 64.5 degrees Fahrenheit).
